Edgar completed his MEng in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Surrey in 2019. With the CDT in Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems, he saw an extraordinary opportunity to help tackle the multiple sustainability challenges of this generation. His research interests include thermo-mechanical simulations and experiments, software-based solutions and sustainable propulsion technologies for ground, air and space vehicles. He is an AMIMechE and hopes to remain involved in academia, continue to collaborate with industry and contribute to tackling the climate crisis and the sustainability challenges of our time. Among his personal interests are movies, music, politics and science.

Name Description Date
AAPS ITT1

AAPS ITT1 took place in collaboration with external partners from AVL in the centre of Bath. Academics, students and industry representatives work collaboratively in groups throughout the week to describe and formulate real-life industrial problems into research proposals. During the ITT Students gained research distillation, presentation and group working skills.

Peer Mentor Training - Cohort 1

Each student is assigned a peer mentor when they join the programme, and then subsequently become a peer mentor to the following intake of students. Peer mentoring training is delivered by the Student Union to provide students with key insights on how to be a good mentor such as being a good active listener and a set of psychological models that can be used to encourage reflective discussions.
