Bio

Kacper graduated from University of Wales Trinity St. David in 2019 with a first-class BEng (Hons) in Motorcycle Engineering, focusing on powertrain development. Kacper’s final year thesis expanded upon the understanding of internal combustion engines (ICE); specifically, calculating real polytropic index during combustion, in addition to adopting and modelling turbulent jet ignition technology from Formula 1 into a passenger car engine. His passion for ICEs was realized by a race engine development company, Race Techniques Ltd. where Kacper carried out modelling & optimization of high-performance Porsche engine. Subsequently, Kacper also led a team for modelling and optimizing Ford Zetec hill climb racing engine, for which he designed a bolt on passive turbulent jet ignited system, based on his thesis work. Kacper is also motorcycle enthusiast, which drove him to become data analyst of Kawasaki sub-team of Orthus Racing for one racing season. Kacper is interested in advancing ICE sustainability and performance via computer modelling and looks forward to working within AAPS to edge closer to his ambition of a carbon neutral, efficient and exciting propulsion future.

Name Description Date
AAPS ITT3

AAPS ITT3 took place in collaboration with external partners from Horiba Mira virtually, on the theme of Cybersecurity in the Automotive Industry. Academics, students and industry representatives work collaboratively in groups throughout the week to describe and formulate real-life industrial problems into research proposals. During the ITT Students gained research distillation, presentation and group working skills.

Summer Masterclass - Low Carbon Fuels

AAPS CDT Students attended a summer masterclass on the theme Low Carbon Fuels, where they learnt about the chemistry behind conventional fuels and what they actually are, what each family of components do and used this as a platform to overview the main routes to future renewable transport fuels. This masterclass also gave an introduction to Hydrogen.

Peer Mentor Training - Cohort 2

Each student is assigned a peer mentor when they join the programme, and then subsequently become a peer mentor to the following intake of students. Peer mentoring training is delivered by the Student Union to provide students with key insights on how to be a good mentor such as being a good active listener and a set of psychological models that can be used to encourage reflective discussions.
