Chris is responsible for research on electrified powertrain solutions, in particular where system level analysis or architectural innovation is required. Chris leads several research projects on electrified powertrain solutions including electric machines with novel architectures, battery management and thermal control. Before returning to academia, he worked in the motorsport industry.
Participating in a really vibrant community of researchers from different disciplines with a common interest and goal. You always pick up interesting insights from speaking to different people across the CDT!
I worked in teams which won a Formula 1 World Championship and 4 Formula E Championships. Before leaving Formula E I came up with a peculiar innovation which is the reason they are now only allowed 1 motor per axle.
